Biogas is a gas mixture formed by the biodegradation of organic substances that we call biomass in the absence of oxygen. Separation of biogas from biogenic material indicates that it is a kind of biofuel. Biogas can be used directly in heating and cooling processes, it can be used in power generation or can be purified up to natural gas quality. By the purification of biogas, the gas becomes mostly methane-containing and is called biomethane.
Renewable energy is the energy in which the source of the energy obtained is sustainable, the rate of existence is equal to or greater than the rate of destruction and is not exhausted. Energy resources, such as fossil fuels, which are extinct in nature and have high carbon emissions, do not fall into the class of renewable energy. Renewable energy sources are mainly solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric and biomass. The use of biomass in biogas production includes biogas energy in the renewable energy class.
